We were greeted by the USFW biologist who spoke to the kids about the endangerment of the monarch butterfly, among other things. He then taught the kids about weeding, the advantage of native plants, and how to plant for optimum survival. The sixty kids, along with about ten parents, planted, weeded, and watered. They worked together for one common goal; cleaning and expanding the beautiful garden.

In November, we teamed with our PTSA to collect no-perishable food items to donate to our local MANNA food bank in Thousand Oaks. In January, we visited the MANNA facility, learned about the organization and spent over an hour sorting all the foods we brought. The director said our donation would be enough to last them three-four weeks, serving about 1500 people.

Acts of Kindness
We heard of a couple local teenagers, and former Sycamore students, going through some tough times...so we decorated their homes so when they returned home from the hospital, they would know they are loved and supported by our community.
